2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Appellation: Rattlesnake Hills

The 2012 Vintage: The 2012 growing season was very good, with good temperatures during the height of growing season, a long fall with cool nights, and no danger of frost during harvest.

The Wine: Planted in 1983, the 4 acre Block 2 is our oldest Cabernet Sauvignon planting; as the vines have matured the fruit has grown in vitality and depth. In 2012 the weather, a very light crop load, and the Block 2 vines combined to produce excellent fruit. This special block 2 designated wine exhibits classic black currant nose, subtle flavors, complex tannins, and brilliant color and balance. The wine will age beautifully or can be enjoyed now.

Food Matches: This wine calls for sharp cheeses, juicy steaks, or rack of lamb.
